WPMQ Kids Kamp

Hey Kids! Want to take over the airwaves of 99.3 FM?  Come to Charlestown High School on Saturday, March 16th and be a radio DJ, a news anchor, a sportscaster, or a weatherman for the day because WPMQ is hosting its second annual “Kids’ Kamp” and you don’t want to miss it!

The camp is open to all students in grades 3-8.   The WPMQ camp for radio and television will teach students in grades 3-8 how to be a real news star. Campers will learn how our radio station works, how to record their voices, introduce songs, give a weather or sports report and more, all of which can be heard on 99.3 FM and http://rdo.to/WPMQLP .  Campers will also film a newscast for the day and it will be aired on our WPMQ YouTube Channel (WPMQ – Charlestown).

Cost of the camp is $25. All campers will record a radio spot and newscast segment, and receive a t-shirt.  There is a limited number of spots available per session so register soon!  Registration deadline is February 28, 2019. Registrations can be dropped off in the main offices of Jonathan Jennings Elementary School, Charlestown Middle School, or Charlestown High School, or mailed to 1 Pirate Place, Charlestown, IN 47111 so long as they are received by the deadline. They will be collected daily and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Schools will be notified if the camp fills before February 28th. You will receive an email or phone call to confirm admission to the camp and receive further information.  You can also check our website at http://chs.gcs.k12.in.us/pirate-network/wpmq-kids-kamp/ for registration status.
